Purpose: pseudo-transformational leaders abuse their ability to inspire others for their own personal gain. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing pseudo-transformational leadership and presenting a model for government organizations applying TISM approach.
Methodology: The research method was mixed, qualitative and quantitative, in the inductive-analogical paradigm. In terms of purpose, it was an applied and exploratory research. The statistical population of the research consisted of university professors in the field of management and managers of government organizations. The data collection tool for the qualitative part was semi-structured interviews and for the quantitative part we applied the fuzzy total interpretive structural modelling questionnaire.
Findings: In the qualitative part, we identified the components of pseudo-transformational leadership in four items: consequences, dimensions, styles, and philosophy. Then, through fuzzy total interpretive structural modelling, the pseudo-transformational leadership models presented.
Originality: So far, no research has focused on the pseudo-transformational leadership in Iran.
Recommendations: To prevent the harm of pseudo-transformational leadership, it is suggested that organizational health from the viewpoints of mental, ethical, and cultural impacts be evaluated systematically based on such factors as personnel satisfaction, amount of trust in managers, and perceived organizational justice.
