Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of perceived over qualification on the turnover intention of human resources through the mediation of employee well-being.
Methodology: This study was applied in terms of its objective and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of the present study included all employees of Razi University of Kermanshah, of whom 215 were selected as samples using the Morgan table from different faculties and with a random stratified sampling method. Data analysis is based on the structural equation modeling method.
Findings: The findings showed that perceived over qualification directly causes the turnover intention in university employees, and perceived over qualification indirectly and through the mediation of well-being (emotional exhaustion and job involvement) also causes the turnover intention
Originality/ value: The turnover intention of employees has a great financial and psychological burden for any organization and is effective on the effectiveness of the organization. By using the theory of person-job fit, an effective step can be taken to reduce perceived over qualification and, as a result, reduce the desire to leave the job in the organization.
