Objective: Wisdom-based leadership, as a novel approach, plays a significant role in shaping positive employee behaviors. This study examined the effects of wisdom-based leadership on organizational citizenship behavior by analyzing the mediating role of perceived organizational trust. The article intended to develop theories of leadership and organizational behavior and present practical strategies for managers to promote trust and motivation of employees in organizations.
Methodology: This research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive survey in terms of method using structural equation approach. Its statistical population included 365 managers and employees of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the sample size was determined by using the Cochran formula bearing confidence level of 95%. Simple random sampling method was applied.
Findings: The research findings indicate that the wisdom-based leadership style has a positive and significant effect on the organizational citizenship behavior of employees in the organization.
Originality: By examining the effects of wisdom-based leadership on organizational citizenship behavior based on the mediating role of perceived organizational trust, this research contributes to a better understanding of how to strengthen employee collaboration and commitment and provides effective management tools to improve organizational performance.
Implications: It is suggested that organizations provide grounds for increasing organizational citizenship behavior by strengthening a wisdom-based leadership style and creating an atmosphere based on mutual trust, thereby promoting employee solidarity and commitment to improve the organization's overall performance.
