The purpose of this research is to demonstrate how dlual work and distraction can decreae the efficiency of individuals. To meet this objective, a precision test called "Toulouse- Pieron Marking Test" was administered over 500 subjects, including students, office workers, housewives, etc. The statistical analysis of the scores showed that performing two activities at a time (dual work) reduces efficiency almost as much as fifty percent, and that the effect of distraction is conducive to that of dual work though not as much ie, it decreases efficiency to a smaller degree. It should be noted that threre exist people who reveal better efficiency when exposed to mild distractions. Such individuals are indeed released from indifference, impatience and heedlessness towards work, and consequently put their potentials into action.
