Abstract Information systems play an important role in performance of organizations. Application of information systems and information technologies (IS/IT) is more useful when organizations go through learning process to use IS/IT in an efficient and effective way, and arrive to stage of maturity. Variety of models has been developed to identify organizational maturity based on IS/IT growth. Earl has developed a five stages model of growth for IS/IT. This article is about to measure organizational maturity based on Earl’s model. A survey is administered to 60 employees in petrochemical companies at south Pars region in Iran. Research findings indicate that these companies are moving toward third stage (administrative) in Earl’s Model. Meanwhile, results in indicative of significant differences among these companies in terms of organizational maturity.
