The challenge to managment of organizations today is to achieve success in a world that is changing daily. We explore the importance of information and the way information systems are changing organizations. In creasingly, those firms that have a good information system and use it in the management of their organizations are much more likely to be successful, and those that do not will fall farther behind. In this essay, we introduce information and information systems. Then we show their importance to management.
