هدف: کارآفرینی شهری می‏تواند چالش‏‌های شهرنشینی را با استفاده از شناسایی، ارزیابی و بهره‌‏برداری از فرصت‏‌های شهری حل نماید. هدف پژوهش حاضر، تبیین مدلی برای کارآفرینی شهری در ایران با شناخت عوامل اثرگذار، با لحاظ نمودن اثر زمینه‌ای و اثر متغیرهای میانجی است.
طرح پژوهش/ روش‏‌شناسی/ رویکرد: پژوهش از نظر ماهیت داده‌ها، آمیخته است. در بخش کیفی، جامعه آماری شامل 50 شهر کلان و بزرگ ایران با جمعیت بالای 200 هزار نفر است. داده‌ها از طریق بررسی مبانی نظری استخراج شده و با تشکیل گروه کانونی از خبرگان مصاحبه کیفی انجام گرفته است. در بخش کمّی، جامعه آماری شامل مدیران، معاونان، و کارکنان سازمان‌های دولتی، خصوصی، و مردم‌‏نهاد است. رویکرد این پژوهش قیاسی است و افق زمانی گردآوری داده‌های پژوهش تک‌‏مقطعی بین سال‌های 1396 تا 1397 است. داده‌ها به وسیله پرسشنامه گردآوری شدند و به منظور طراحی مدل کمّی از سیستم استنتاج فازی بهره گرفته شد.
یافته‌ها: شهر خلاق، زیست‌بوم کارآفرینانه، و شرایط تولید/ خدمات کارآفرینانه بر کارآفرینی شهری اثرگذار هستند. همچنین، نقش تعدیل‏‌گری منفی متغیرهای تراکم شهری و مثبت پیچیدگی محیطی در رابطه بین متغیرهای مستقل و کارآفرینی شهری مشخص گردید. نیاز به اشاره است که متغیرهای رقابت شهری و واکنش‏‌گری شهری کارآفرینانه در شرایط محیطی کلان و بزرگ شهرهای ایران در نقش میانجی ظاهر نمی‌شوند.
