Today, entering Iranian universities to trade knowledge of an advantage has become a requirement. In the process of commercialization, many factors, including environmental factors, technological, human, organizational and many many other factors involved. The aim of this subject area, weighing the importance of environmental factors in humanities areas, the consequence of external organizational factors is the commercialization of university research. This study, using thematic analysis is conducted semi-structured interviews with the approach based discovery. The statistical population in this study, including an expert scientific community is in the field of higher education, technology transfer and commercialization suggests that the so-called elites. The results obtained 8 key codes: Legal, national documents, state structure, supportive, industrial, culture, education and inherent barriers were identified. And then the three indicators of institutional, government and private categories that indicate the role of environmental factors are important in the commercialization of academic research.
