In dynamic world that the continuous change is its fixed laws, important parts of higher education and university as small world in major society in form of conservative institutions in compared with power, culture, government and industry, have stayed approximately static. In compared with first decades of the second half of the last century that university become valid social institutions, its validity is declining. Nowadays, according to increasing rate of change and the advent of the knowledge era have expanded wave of futurology future study in political, social, economical and technological institutions. From the past two decades, consistent with society developments and has found the importance and necessity to know future and policy making and long term planning of university system. In the paper with explorative approach is extracted the strategies to adjust university with environment and society and the consequences of compatible with environment by mixed method of documents review and grounded theory. To identify and validate strategies and consequences was used open and axial coding in grounded theory. In the research, with determination of compatible university with environment and society as core category in higher education futurology, 13 key strategies and four key consequences of compatible university with environment have been identified and developed. Based on the research results, university system must permanently be compatible with academic and social environments by the suggested strategies and university must constantly is the dynamic balance with changing society.
