Purpose: To measure the direct and indirect impact of organic structure on workforce agility by considering the mediating role of behavioral commitment and the moderating role of inspirational leadership in rail transportation companies.
Methodology: This study was a descriptive survey and was conducted using a quantitative method. The statistical population included 20 passenger and freight railway companies in the country, and the sample size was determined to be 500 people using the Morgan table. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire and its reliability was confirmed with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.808. (SEM) with the PLS approach was used to analyze the data.
Findings: structure does not have a direct significant effect on workforce agility, and organic structure has a significant effect on workforce agility indirectly through employee commitment. Inspirational leadership moderates the relationship between organic structure and workforce agility. Finally, workforce agility in rail transportation companies is at a desirable level.
Originality: This study is one of the few studies that empirically examines workforce agility in the rail transportation sector, considering the role of organic structure, behavioral commitment, and inspirational leadership, and provides a native model for this industry.
