ناتوانی در رهبری اثربخش منابع سازمانی مانند سرمایههای مالی، منابع انسانی، و مدیریت حل تعارضهای درون و برون سازمانی از مسائلی است که سازمانهای مردم‌‌نهاد (سمن) غیردولتی با آن مواجه‌اند. هدف این پژوهش، ارائه مدل رهبری اثربخش در سمن‌های زیست‌‌محیطی ایران است. پژوهش حاضر از لحاظ هدف، توسعه‌ای و نوع روش، توصیفی ـ اکتشافی است. گردآوری داده‌های کیفی به روش داده بنیاد و با مصاحبه از 12 نفر از خبرگان سمن‌های زیست‌‌محیطی در شهر تهران صورت میگیرد. فرایند کدگذاری نظریۀ داده‌‌بنیاد شامل فراگرد تحلیل مستمر دادهها در سه مرحله کدگذاری باز، محوری، و گزینشی است. نتایج فرایند کدگذاری نشان می‌دهد که مشارکتجویی، خدمت‌‌گزاری، تحولگرایی، و قانون‌مداری از ابعاد رهبری اثربخش؛ ظرفیت تشکل‌های مردمی، شبکه‌های حکمرانی، و ظرفیت‌های سازمانی از عوامل علّی؛ ساختار سازمانی منعطف و فضای سازمانی از عوامل زمینه‌ای موثر؛ و خط مشی و راهبرد حمایتی از عوامل مداخلهگر الگوی رهبری اثربخش در سمن‌های زیست‌‌محیطی هستند. همچنین، راهبردها به دو بخش درون و برون سازمانی طبقه‌بندی می‌شوند. در پایان، مشارکت عمومی و عملکرد سازمانی به عنوان پیامدهای رهبری اثربخش در سمن‌های زیست‌‌محیطی محسوب می‌شوند.
