به منظور دستیابی به عملکرد بالا، سازمان‌ها باید توجه ویژه‌ای به توسعه شایستگی‌های هوشی مدیران و کارکنان کلیه سطوح سازمانی خود داشته باشند، زیرا انطباق با تغییرهای سریع محیطی نیازمند توسعه شایستگی‏‌های اعضای سازمان است. پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی تاثیر شایستگی‌های هوشی بر عملکرد رهبران سازمان‌های دولتی با بررسی 70 مدیر از سازمان‌‏های دولتی شهر تهران از طریق نمونه‌‏گیری تصادفی نشان می‌دهد که شایستگی‌های هوشی از جمله هوش شناختی، هوش هیجانی، و هوش اجتماعی بر عملکرد رهبران سازمان‌های دولتی اثر مثبت و معناداری دارند. بنابراین، ضروری است فعالیت‏ هایی مانند مداخله‏‌های آموزشی برای ایجاد شایستگی‌های هوشی انجام شود. این پژوهش مزایای شایستگی‌های هوشی را در سازمان‌ها نشان می‌دهد و دربرگیرنده مفاهیمی برای توسعه شایستگی‌های هوشی و عملکرد رهبری است.
