در دنیای کنونی، با توجه به پیشرفت فناوری‏‌های اطلاعاتی و ارتباطی، بخش‏‌های دولتی و غیردولتی به استقرار مشارکت الکترونیکی در روابط بین سازمان‌‏های خدمت‌‏رسان و ذی‏‌نفعان کلیدی می‏پردازند. این پژوهش با هدف تعیین تاثیر اعتماد شهروندان بر مشارکت الکترونیکی و تعدیل‏‌گری ریسک ادراک‏شده و باور به فاصله قدرت، و میانجی‌‏گری نگرش شهروندان و ابهام‏‌پذیری انجام می‏شود. این پژوهش از نظر هدف‏‌شناختی، کاربردی و از نظر روش گردآوری داده‏‌ها، پیمایشی است. جامعه آماری، شهروندان خدمت‏‌گیرنده از سازمان شهرداری تهران هستند. از آن‏جایی که در تحلیل مسیر، حجم نمونه بر مبنای تعداد نماگرهای سازه‌ها و همچنین، سطح معناداری تعیین می‌شود، برای تعیین حجم نمونه با استفاده از جدول کوهن 364 پرسشنامه توزیع گردید. نتایج به‏‌دست‌‏آمده حاکی از آن است که مشارکت الکترونیکی در سطح زیر متوسط قرار دارد. یافته‏‌های پژوهش بیانگر آن است که اعتماد شهروندان بر مشارکت الکترونیکی اثر مثبت دارد و ابهام‌‏پذیری در روابط بین این دو متغیر در نقش میانجی ظاهر می‏شود و بر مشارکت الکترونیکی اثر مثبتی می‏‌گذارد. در ضمن، یافته‌‏های پژوهش نشانگر اثرگذار نبودن گرایش شهروندان بر مشارکت الکترونیکی است. به علاوه، نتایج نشان می‏‌دهد که متغیر باور به فاصله قدرت، روابط بین اعتماد شهروندان و مشارکت الکترونیکی را به‌طور مثبت تعدیل می‏کند، ولی متغیر ریسک ادراک‌‏شده در روابط بین نگرش شهروندان و مشارکت الکترونیکی در نقش تعدیل‌‏کننده ظاهر نمی‌‏شود.
